Each programme includes a 50 minute boat trip, followed by one
of four 30 - 40 minute workshops, which have been specifically
designed for primary children, to link in with different Curriculum
for Excellence experiences and outcomes.
Workshops
-
Shaping the landscape looks at local history,
how the local industries have changed and the impact this has had
on the geography of the area.
-
Build a canal uses a interactive sandbox to
teach children about why and how canals were built.
-
Taking care of our world looks at the
preservation of our world, as we investigate what needs protecting
around The Wheel such as local habitats and organisms and what we
could do to protect those things.
-
Building structures explores the incredible

be here, who was responsible for building it and learn about the
design.
