Lowland Volunteer Group Seeks New Independent Chair

16 Nov 2010

An independent chair is sought for the newly established Lowland Volunteer Canal Group, a network of canal-based voluntary sector organisations across lowland Scotland brought together by British Waterways Scotland to help drive community involvement and engagement in the growing future of the waterways.

The part-time post of Chair presents an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong knowledge of the third sector in Scotland and an interest in helping shape and sustain the future of the Forth & Clyde, Union and Monkland canals, which are already making a significant economic, social and environmental contribution nationally and at local level.

For informal enquiries about the post, please contact Richard Millar, Waterway Development Manager, British Waterways Scotland on 0141 332 6936/ 07715 700265.

To apply, send a CV with accompanying letter explaining why you would like to be considered for the post by email to richard.millar@britishwaterways.co.uk or by post to Richard Millar, Waterway Development Manager, British Waterways Scotland, 1 Applecross Street, Glasgow G4 9SP.

The closing date for applications is the 31st January 2011.
