Starting salary: £13,000 pro rata
Start Dates: Various from March - September / October 2012
Locations: Inverness, Fort Augustus, Fort William, Crinan,
Falkirk, Glasgow, Grangemouth
In 2012 we are expecting another busy boating season on
Scotland's Canals and so we are starting our search for
seasonal staff to work along one of Scotland's most beautiful
tourist attractions.
We are recruiting a variety of positions from waterways
operative for our canals to retail and catering staff for the
Falkirk Wheel.
Customer service is key to our business and with that in mind we
require welcoming people who enjoy meeting and assisting the
public. Previous experience in a frontline customer service role
would be ideal as you will be advising tourists and sailors about
the local area.
Depending on the role you choose, you could find yourself
assisting craft through the locks, carrying out basic maintenance
duties of an area nearby, including grass cutting,
working as boat crew or serving in the busy café or shop at the
Falkirk Wheel.
You will be able to use your own initiative as well as the
ability to work as part of a small, friendly team.
We will give you adequate training to ensure you can carry out
your role safely and to the best of your ability.
You will be working on a rota, which includes weekends and
public holidays. Having access to transport and a full driving
licence are essential for some of the more remote locations.
To apply, please send your CV and covering letter (outlining
your choice of location) to:
(Please note closing date for Crinan applications is Monday
20th February)
(Please note closing date for Caledonian applications is Monday
30th January - late applications for Fort Augustus considered until
13th February)
Closing date: Midday 13 February 2012.
