The canal and its lochs - Loch Lochy, Loch Oich, Loch Ness and
Loch Dochfour - are excellent for salmon and sea trout.
The best months are July, August and September, but anytime
between May and October is good.
Canal fishing
No permit is needed to fish on the canal, just remember to pay
attention to other waterways users!
