Canalside Walks

The canal towpath is a great place to take a walk, or relax and unwind by going for a jog, and is suitable for all ages. There are also many forest walks around the canal.

Across Scotland

The Great Glen Way is one of 4 official long distance routes in Scotland. The 73 mile route takes you across Scotland from Fort William in the west to Inverness in the east. The route follows sections of the canal towpath and forestry tracks through some of the Highland's most beautiful scenery and alongside Loch Ness.

Outdoor Capital of the UK

Fort William and Lochaber boast some of Scotland's finest mountains. In fact, Britain's highest mountain, Ben Nevis, overlooks the canal entrance at Corpach.

You can walk right across Scotland by following the canal towpath and the Great Glen Way!
