We have had considerable success developing a new quarter at
Edinburgh Quay and are working with Local Authorities,
Stakeholders and the wider community to regenerate locations
across the central belt, Argyll and along the length of the Great
Glen.
Working in partnerships with stakeholders and the community will
provide a plan for a sustainable future. We are however very
keen to develop relationship and ventures with the private sector
and other investors to deliver change within what is
unquestionably some of Scotland's most exciting and scenic
areas.
We look upon water as being critical to the success of
Scotland's Canal but not in the traditional context. Water as a
commodity generates interest in a world market. Managing canals
allows us to move vast quantities of water across the Country. This
creates opportunities to manage surface water, flood risk, energy
generation, heating and cooling of buildings and moving water to
ports for commercial sale.
The following pages bring greater insight into our key projects
and my team and I would welcome comments from all parties who are
interested in contributing to the future wellbeing of Scotland's
Canals.
