Crinan

The Village of Crinan and the western termination of the Crinan Canal meet in one of Argyll's most spectacular landscapes. This very special setting has the benefit if international and local protection through being a Scheduled Monument and a Conservation Area. Enhancing Crinan as a boating and tourist destination will have to be considered very sensitively in order to preserve the special character which makes it unique.

British Waterways Scotland has worked with locals and stakeholders to develop plans for new boaters facilities and continues to work to develop aspirations for an arts community.

British Waterways Scotland is committed to preserving the special qualities of Crinan and will be conducting a Conservation Area Appraisal over the course of the coming months.
