Bona Lighthouse was once the UK's smallest, manned, inland lighthouse. It was converted from a stable block to a lighthouse during the first major improvements to the canal and has hosted every revolution in lighting technology, before being replaced by a modern marker  light.

The property sits at the head of Loch Ness and is a quirky structure with enviable views of both the Loch and the Caledonian Canal.

Planning Permission and Listed Building Consent have been applied for and as soon as consents are in place we will start the meticulous restoration process. All going well the restored lighthouse should be operating as a holiday let by start of season 2012.
