Telford House, Gairlochy was constructed during 1815-20 as part of the operation of the canal. Initially used by Telford and His supervisors during the costruction of the canal, it was then put to use as canal lock keepers accommodation.

The property has tremendous views along the canal and further afield to Ben Nevis.

British Waterways invested in a shell preservation scheme to secure the short term futrure of the house. Working with the Vivat Trust, it is envisaged that proposals for Telford House, Gairlochy, will be developed on completion of the restoration of Bona Lighthouse in 2012.
