Action outdoors

A £1 million project to create a vibrant activity centre on the bank of the Union Canal in Falkirk.

Built by The Waterways Trust Scotland and managed by Falkirk Council, Action Outdoors aims to offer young people in the region a host of healthy waterside activities, new experiences, the opportunity to meet new people and the chance to develop new skills.

Alongside taster sessions where young people can try out a new activity, the centre offers personal and social development courses and the opportunity to gain National Governing Body awards in a range of outdoor activities. Staff at the centre are making the most of the facilities that are available on their doorstep - the canals, the towpaths and the natural environment, to make a real difference to the young people in the area.

More than 2,500 people are expected to make use of the centre each year.

If you think you have skills that could help the young people at the Action Outdoors centre then please complete the "Sign me up Volunteer Form" or call Fiona Hamilton.
