'Green Action' is a 12 week long volunteering and employability
project which provides opportunities for young people from Falkirk
and surrounding rural areas to gain practical work experience and
training in environment and tourism.
Through the environmental programme, based at Action Outdoors
Activity Centre, volunteers receive training from BTCV Scotland
[British Trust for Conservation Volunteers] in landscaping, tree
planting, maintenance and gardening. During the tourism programme,
based at The Falkirk Wheel, volunteers will become equipped with
retail, catering, waterway operations and customer service
skills.
In addition to the work programme there will be a programme of
outdoor activities to help the trainees to develop team working and
social skills.
If you have the skills to help to deliver this programme please
complete the "Sign me up Volunteer
Form" and well contact you to discuss how you can get
involved.
