The next Green Actions skills and employability programme will begin in Falkirk on Thursday 23rd August and North Lanarkshire on Friday 24th August and, for the first time, volunteers completing the 14 week course on the Forth & Clyde Canal will achieve two accredited qualifications.

A pilot project has been developed by The Waterways Trust Scotland and Forestry Commission Scotland to provide a range of walking and forest skills activities to improve the health and wellbeing of people suffering long-term health conditions.
A successful day's litter picking was carried out at Kirkintilloch on the Forth and Clyde canal. Volunteers supported by Linton McBurnie Volunteer coordinator British Waterways Scotland gathered at the Seagull Trust boat house and cleared litter from the towpath in the area.
