The canal is excellent for fly fishing, with good trout to be caught and even a run of salmon. You do not require a licence to fish on the canal. All we ask is that you pay attention to other waterway users. The best areas are towards the Crinan end between locks 9 and 13.
You can also fish the reservoirs that feed the canal; some are stocked and others have wild fish. Catches are especially good at dusk and at night.
