Pinkston Watersports

A community paddlesports centre with Scotland's only artificial whitewater course, offering unique urban watersports facilities to organisations and individuals.

Pinkston Watersports is a unique force for change in Scotland – an urban sports hub that fosters community involvement and regeneration alongside the development of sporting excellence. Pinkston is Scotland’s first competition standard, purpose built watersports centre opened in Spring 2014.

Located in the Pinkston Basin on the Forth & Clyde Canal near Speirs Wharf, North Glasgow, the centre is just 2 minutes drive off J16 on the M8 motorway or a 1 mile walk from Glasgow city centre.

The centre offers something for everyone; a training facility for elite athletes on the artificial white water course, a venue for regular paddlesport club and open water swimming sessions, a water safety training resource for the Scottish Fire Service and Royal Life Saving Society and a community hub providing the opportunity for local people – whether they’re beginners or seasoned enthusiasts – to get out on the water.

Run by volunteer watersports enthusiasts and supported by Scottish Canals. Unlike other artificial white water centres, Pinkston is not a commercial enterprise and does not operate for profit – good news for small clubs, the community and other charities.
