The Caledonian Canal is one of the Highlands most popular visitor attractions with over 1,400 boats transiting the canal each year.
Corpach Entrance Jetty sits on the eastern terminus of the Caledonian Canal. It was constructed in 1976 and structural elements of the jetty are considered to be in a fair condition. However a recent inspection identified issues with the softwood decking and intermediate beams which constitute a potential risk of injury to Scottish Canals and members of the public. The area has been fenced off and is currently inaccessible to the public.
Works were due to be completed by end of financial year 2019-20 but were placed on hold due to COVID-19. The works are scheduled to take place in November and December 2020.
