Lilly Loch Reservoir

Works to protect the masonry structure of the Lilly Loch Reservoir from potential scour damage in times of flood got underway in 2018/2019. Weir repairs are ongoing.

Lilly Loch Reservoir is situated near to the Hillend Reservoir and supplies water to the Forth & Clyde Canal and the remains of the Monkland Canal.

As part of our statutory obligations as reservoir owners, works are being undertaken to safeguard the integrity of the reservoir and manage risk to the wider public and downstream. The project will be to repair weathered stone blocks and replace missing stone on the downstream face of the main dam spillway. The planned repairs to the spillway are to protect this masonry structure from potential scour damage in times of flood, or whenever water flows over the weir.
