Bonnybridge HRA Embankment Improvements (Rowantree 10)

Works to to arrest leakage and improve embankment safety at Rowantree Embankment will get underway in 2021.

As part of the published asset strategy, Rowantree Embankment on the Forth & Clyde Canal at Bonnybridge has been identified as an embankment needing improvement.

In order to arrest leakage and improve embankment safety, a project will get underway in 2021/2022 to install piling at four locations.

The towpath will be closed for the duration of the works on the Forth and Clyde Canal between Bridge Street bridge and the Falkirk Wheel.

Work will begin on the 15th November 2021 until 11th March 2022.

Update 3rd March 2022

Works to Bonnybridge bridge deck will take place on Monday 7th March and Tuesday 8th March 2022.

Traffic management will be in place with single closure to allow safe working. Traffic signal control will remain over night on Monday 7th March.

Update 16th December 2021

The current towpath closure will be lifted and towpath re-opened for use from 5pm on 24th December 2021 and over the festive period.

The towpath will be closed again to public use from 10/01/2022 for completion of the works.

Signage will be in place advising of the opening period and existing diversion banners will be removed during this period.
