Join us to celebrate the re-opening of the Lowland Canals at The Falkirk Wheel for a family friendly day filled with food, fun, and entertainment!

Join us to celebrate the re-opening of the Lowland canals!

Dive in to the celebrations on Saturday the 25th of May 2019 at The Falkirk Wheel as we celebrate with a Canal Carnival and Flotilla.

Bring your friends and family to wave off the flotilla of more than 70 steam boats, yachts, and Clyde Puffers as they leave the Falkirk Basin on their journey to Auchinstarry!

The flotilla departure will be followed by a selection of live music, scrumptious scran, and unique events as the celebrations continue into the day.

Get your groove on with live music from Camelon Pipe Band, Dj Steven Menzies, and Carbon Copy, visit our mini petting zoo, and join in on our soft archery and water sports! Enjoy guided walks from Ramblers Scotland, take a ride on our bumper boats and water zorbs, take a gander at the Edinburgh Model Boat Club‘s collection, and visit our environment and heritage hubs for lots of info on Scotland’s beautiful canals.

For those looking to refuel during the festivities, there’ll be stone-baked pizza and artisan ice cream from Falkirk-based parlour The Milk Barn, and an array of sweet and savoury treats on offer in the Wheel’s café.

Pop along to the The Falkirk Wheel on Saturday 25th May between 9:30am and 4pm to see what we have in store.

Don’t forget to share your pictures and videos of the day with us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram with the hashtag #CanalCarnival!
