The Falkirk Wheel to Roughcastle Walking Tour

Join your very own ‘Real Roman’ as he takes you on a historical tour from The Falkirk Wheel to Roughcastle Roman Fort.

Prepare to be impressed by his knowledge of the Roman Empire and their ventures into Caledonia and find out what the Romans actually did for us!

The tour will begin at The Falkirk Wheel then proceed to Roughcastle Roman Fort, the best preserved fort along the Antonine Wall. The tour lasts approximately 2 hours which includes the march up and down to the Fort with a 1 hour talk by your very own ‘Real Roman’!

There will be some walking involved on uneven ground at the site, and unfortunately our tour may not be accessible for wheelchairs or those with mobility issues.Participants should wear sturdy boots / shoes and bring some waterproof clothing. You may also with to bring a packed lunch, or visit the Falkirk Wheel cafe for lunch.

Prices for the tour are £8 for adults (16 years +) £4 for children (5 – 15 years) and senior citizens. A family ticket (2 adults + 2 children) is £20. We welcome children 5 years and older, accompanied by an adult. Please book your tickets in advance through the Real Roman Tours’ website.
