Join us on Friday 31st January for a litter-picking day at The Whisky Bond and the Forth &Clyde Canal. This event gives the local community and businesses the opportunity to get together and tidy around the canal and outside our collective workplaces.
Scottish Canals will be facilitating the clean-up, and has provided litter-picking kits which will be available from The Whisky Bond reception on the day.
The tidy will be happening on a drop-in basis so feel free to lend as little or as much time as you can.

About Keep Scotland Beautiful’s Upstream Battle Campaign
As part of our commitment to the Keep Scotland Beautiful Upstream Battle Campaign, we’re supporting KSB’s litter count, a push to everyone across Scotland to understand the types of litter found near waterways, and to take action to prevent this litter ending up in the sea.
80% of all marine litter comes from land, where litter is discarded and washed into gutters or blown into streams. This means that litter in our streets and parks is not only costly to clean up but is a threat to the marine environment. With 12.7 tonnes of litter and plastic reaching our oceans each year, the solution is prevention.
That’s why we’re joining the Upstream Battle campaign to remind everyone that we need to stop litter at its source. We are contributing to Scotland’s first comprehensive river data set which will help inform policy and develop tailor-made, litter prevention interventions.
