Caledonian Canal reopened to boat traffic at Laggan Bridge

Repairs to Laggan bridge have been completed successfully and the canal has reopened to boat traffic.

11th April, 2.20pm

A82 has now reopened to road traffic however it is currently closed to boat traffic whilst repairs are complete.

11th April, 12pm

BEAR Scotland has established what has caused the failure and are investigating the issue further. Our staff are on site to assist with repairs.

11th April, 11am

The A82 at Laggan Bridge on the Caledonian Canal is currently closed to road traffic due to a mechanical failure. Engineers from BEAR Scotland, who maintain the bridge, are currently on site. An update will be provided once the initial assessment is carried out.
