Corpach Lock Gate failure

We have experienced a lock gate failure at Corpach on Saturday 25th June, closing the canal to navigation.

Corpach top lock, also known as Fishers lock, experienced a failure on Saturday afternoon 25th June. As a result the canal is closed to navigation in this area.

Our teams are currently on site investigating the cause of the failure.

Situation updates

Update 27th June

The lock gate repair on 26th June was successful, however as a result of the closure we have experienced a build up of boats in the west district of the canal, between Corpach and Gairlochy. We are working to get boats moving through the district this morning to allow normal navigation to resume.

Update 26th June

Lock gate repairs are underway and we hope to have the canal open to navigation as soon as this is complete.

Update 21.00 25th June

Investigations have been undertaken and repair works have been scoped. Repairs will commence on Sunday 26th June. The canal will remain closed to navigation at Corpach until works are completed.
