Dive Inspections will be underway on the Crinan Canal beginning Monday 9th March, as part of our Lock Gate Replacement Program. The surveys will take approximately 2 days per lock chamber, running from lock 1 to 8 on the East reach of the Crinan Canal. It is expected that inspections will be complete by the of 30th March.
The Crinan Canal is now fully open to transit boat traffic and the diving inspections will not halt navigation. However during the period of the scheduled inspections some canal users may experience delays to boat movements to enable the safe operation of the divers. We will work with boaters and divers to keep disruption to a minimum.
