Crinan Canal reopened at Lock 6

Tuesday 19 June, 12noon

The team have managed to replace the damaged balance beam and the lock is now back to normal operation.

Monday 18 June, 1.30pm

The team have managed to open the lock gate using a crane which will enable us to continue to operate today, however please be aware that some delays may be experienced when transiting the canal.

A replacement beam will need to be fitted and we will inform customers of any delays or closure as a result.

Monday 18 June, 9am

Following investigations of the balance beams at Lock 6, the Crinan Canal is currently closed to boat transits at this location.

Our team are on-site undertaking repairs and we should have a further update this afternoon.

The Crinan Canal remains open at all other locations.
