Fault on Laggan Swing Bridge

The fault on the Laggan Swing Bridge has been resolved and boat movement will be able to resume from Tuesday 19th April. Thank you for your patience.

The Laggan Swing Bridge will remain closed for the duration of today whilst our partners continue to assess the fault. Customers looking to pass through Laggan via boat are kindly asked to contact Scottish Canals’ Fort Augustus office on 01463 725500. Updates will be posted once available.

Sunday 17th April 2022

On Sunday 17th April 2022, Scottish Canals were made aware that a fault had occurred on a third party asset, Laggan Swing Bridge, which passes over the Caledonian Canal.

Boat movements are unable to take place through Laggan as a result of the swing bridge being unable to open.

Our partners will be onsite investigating the issue on Monday 18th April 2022 and hope to have the bridge operational as soon as possible.
