Low water levels in the Forth & Clyde Canal

Update:  11am, Friday 24th June

Water feeds have now been restored and levels continue to improve slowly. We hope to have them back to normal in 48 hours.

Thank you once again for your patience during this time.

11am, Thursday 23rd June

We are aware of the ongoing technical issue currently with the Monkland Pipeline which is subsequently causing low water levels on the Forth and Clyde canal.

This has reduced the levels in some areas by 12” – 18” and as a result of lower levels, has exacerbated the weed issue.

We have been advised by Scotland Transerv that they hope to be in a position to start putting water through from mid day today (Thursday 23rd June) which should deliver a positive impact on water levels by tomorrow morning.

We will post updates here as we receive them.

Thank you for your patience during this time.
