Due to poor weather expected over the winter, we are currently maintaining reduced water levels in the Crinan Canal. As a consequence, we would like to ask our transit customers to provide us with at least 48 hours’ notice if they have a draft of more than 2.1m in fresh water. This will allow us to raise the level of the canal to allow a comfortable passage. Vessels with draft less than 2.1m in fresh water (add 0.1m to salt water draft) will be able to transit as normal within our operating hours and use of the sea locks and basins is unaffected. These conditions are accurate until further notice. Thank you for your assistance.
