Both Laggan Bridge and Gairlochy Swing Bridge are operational and open to road traffic and canal navigation. Thank you for your patience.

Bear Scotland engineers have inspected Laggan Bridge and have reported that the bridge is fully operational and open to both road traffic and navigation. Thank you for your patience.

Due to an incident this morning, Laggan Bridge, Fort Augustus (Caledonian Canal) is currently closed to boat traffic. Road traffic is unaffected at this time. Engineers from Bear Scotland are currently on route. An update will follow once available.

22/04/23 – 3.50pm 

The Gairlochy Swing Bridge (Caledonian Canal) is now open to road traffic, it remains closed to canal navigation. Teams are working to resolve the issue for canal navigation, an update will be posted as soon as we have additional information.

The Gairlochy Swing Bridge (Caledonian Canal) is currently out of operation and is closed to both canal navigation and road traffic. Teams are currently on site working to resolve the issue. An update will be posted as soon as the bridge is operational. Thank you for your patience.
