Canal Bridge works
Following on from the previous notice, the Union Canal towpath will now be closed off from 28th November until spring 2023 for our contractors RJ Mcleod to build the new road bridge. We recognise the inconvenience this causes but unfortunately we cannot build the bridge safely without the towpath and canal being closed. We have worked with the Council who have advised on the accessible diversion route for all users.
All parties will work together to get the towpath back open as soon as possible next year and we will keep you updated. Thank you, as ever, for your understanding as we develop Winchburgh.
As part of 3rd party works to deliver a new road crossing between Winchburgh and M9, there will be a towpath closure and local diversion in place from early October. Information will be updated on this page.
Please note that third party works are due to commence between October 2022 and March 2023 with detailed timings to be advised. The towpath diversion is available to view below and if you have any additional queries, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
