This map shows the route of the Caledonian Canal from Inverness to Corpach.
A cross section of the canal is shown at the bottom of the plan, which details the depth of the canal along its length and the depth of Loch Ness, which at its deepest is marked as 129 fathoms.
This map was commissioned upon the orders of the Houses of Parliament and printed on the 29th August 1848.
