Thousands of people turned out to celebrate the start of summer at the third Revolution Festival on the 29th of June 2019, and what a day it was!
Revolution festival returned to The Falkirk Wheel for its third spin on Saturday 29th June 2019. Bigger and bolder than before, this year’s event saw over 5,000 people flock to the world’s first – and only – rotating boat lift to take part in a whole host of events.
A record number of vessels entered the gondolas of The Wheel as over 60 canoes, kayaks and SUPs took part in the Lock n Paddle challenge, building on the success of last year’s inaugural challenge in association with Parks Canada.
Over 150 people took part in The Falkirk Wheel’s first ever colour fights, which saw families paint each other blue, green, pink, orange and yellow.
The Wheel hosted a wide range of entertainment throughout the day, including spectacular scenes from The Showman Circus, zorbing, trampolining, mini laser tag, animal handling, live music and walking, biking and boating tours along the Union Canal.
