The Caledonian Canal Centre opened in 2017 and is already a world-class visitor and destination hub.
Situated on the southernmost tip of Loch Ness, the Caledonian Canal Centre is a redeveloped existing premises in Fort Augustus, promoting the area as a long-stay, year-round destination. The sustainable tourism offering celebrates this unique location along the canal whilst contributing to the local economy by providing access to jobs and economic activity.

The Caledonian Canal Centre also boasts a café, serving homemade, Scottish produce throughout the day. Grab and go options are also available so you can enjoy your fresh coffee or artisan ice cream from the Black Isle Dairy whilst you explore Fort Augustus around you.
Stay
Stay overnight in one of the seven unique holiday rooms that form part of the centre, known as the Lock Chambers, which include dog-friendly rooms and family accommodation. A stay in the Lock Chambers can be booked here.

Opening Hours
The Caledonian Canal Centre is open seven days a week, though hours vary depending on season.
April 1st to October 31st – 09:00 to 17:00 November 1st to March 31st – 09:30 to 15:30
