Have you already registered to take part in the first ever Youth Urban Games 2018, taking place in North Glasgow on Saturday 25th August 2018? Please find some useful information below:
This is going to be a day-long outdoor event on a purpose-built, competition-standard stage – see the stage design here. Some of the best BMXers, skateboarders and free-runners from across the UK and beyond will be performing on the day, with participants taking it in turns to try different tricks and moves.
Location | Youth Urban Games Arena, Sawmillfield Street, Glasgow, G4 9SA |
Registration | Please come to the Registration Marquee between 9-10am the to sign in. You will be given your time slot then. |
Event duration | All day (with prize-giving and the finals in all sports finishing at 5pm). |
Programme for the day | The athletes programme begins after the Opening Ceremony and runs throughout the day until 5pm. A detailed programme of what is happening and when is available here. |
Getting here | There is no parking on site and limited on-street paid-for parking. We recommend you either travel by public transport or make your way to the site by foot or bike. Further details are available here. |
Catering | We will provide all registered participants with sandwiches, fruit and water but if you need anything else, please bring this along with you on the day. |
What to bring | BMXers/skateboarders, please bring your own bike/board/pads/helmets. Our insurance only covers you if you wear a helmet.
Free-runners, please bring whatever you think you will need. |
Changing facilities | There will be changing facilities on site but no lockers so we recommend that you bring minimum belongings. |
Prizes | There is a £500 prize each for the BMX and skateboard winner, £375 for first runner up and £125 for the second runner up (announced after the finals at 4.50pm). As the parkour performances are not a competition, there is no parkour prize. Prize money will be paid via bank transfer after the event. |
Judges | Experienced judges will assess each skateboard and BMX participant and decide whether to put them through to the semi-finals and then finals. They will also decide the winners. |

Video | Camera crews will be filming throughout the event for use across the YUG2018 website and social channels. If you do not want to be filmed, please let us know when you register. |
Wet weather | In the event of wet weather, we may have to delay some of the performances/jams/demos or move some inside the marquee. In these circumstances, as space will be restricted, we may not be able to get through the entire programme. |
