Walking or Cycling

The main access points to the games are from the north via Applecross Street or Craighall Road, from the West via Bairds Brae, or from the city via Cowcaddens and Landscape Links.

The games are a 15-minute walk from the city centre. If you are using Google Maps to find us, the postcode G4 9SA will take you to the heart of the games.

Public Transport

Cowcaddens is the nearest subway station, located less than 10 minutes’ walk away. As you leave the station turn left and walk alongside the flats at Dundasvale Court, following the red walkway underneath the M8. After the underpass turn right up the staircase and keeping climbing until you reach the canal.

First buses 7, 7A and 75 from the city centre will stop on Possil Road opposite Dawson Road. Turn up Dawson Road and veer right, past The Whisky Bond, and onto the canal towpath.

We would urge you to consider public transport for your journey, but where this is not possible, there is limited on-street paid-for parking.

Scottish Canals work hard to maintain towpaths and access routes to a high standard, and as such all of the canal towpaths are wheelchair accessible.

Year of Young People

Scotland’s first ever Year of Young People is happening in 2018. It aims to inspire all ages through its young people (8-26) by celebrating their achievements, valuing their contributions to communities and creating new opportunities for them to shine on a local and global stage. The Year of Young People 2018 will offer even more opportunities for both locals and visitors to enjoy a trip to, and around Scotland. From adrenaline filled adventure breaks and breath-taking road trips, to a range of exciting events and festivals, Scotland offers endless things to see and do during the celebratory year.
