Dredging of Ardrishaig Harbour

We are set to dredge Ardrishaig Harbour this autumn. Dredging operations will extend from the pier to the sea lock entrance and beyond the lighthouse.

A build-up of silt has caused disruption to timber transportation vessels, and if left to accumulate further, will prevent access through the sea lock.

The scope of works will comprise:

An excavator working from the pier and a pontoon will break up the stiffer material in the harbour.

A plough dredger will then move the silt out into deeper waters offshore (the agreed approach under our dredging license from Marine Scotland). arine Scotland).

Vessels will not be able to access the canal through Ardrishaig Harbour throughout the dredging works. We will provide the dates here in advance, and our Moorings and Customer teams will be in touch with individual boaters with more information.
