We realise that if you are new to boating buying and getting the boat to its berth can seem a complex operation but hopefully this easy to follow guide to mooring with Scottish Canals will help you settle into life on the canal and enjoy recreational activities on the water.Â
Before coming on to the canal
In order to bring your boat on to the Scottish Canals network you will need to make sure that we have a suitable mooring for you and that your vessel is in good shape both mechanically and aesthetically.
Getting your boat on to the canal
Once your mooring has been secured, there are three options to get your boat on to the canal network.Â

Get information on passage through bridge and locks as well as the facilities available on the canals.Â
