The Falkirk Wheel: Customer Facilities Refurbishment

Improvement works are set to take place at The Falkirk Wheel this winter to deliver upgraded facilities for our boating community and campervan customers.

The project will deliver a complete refurbishment of the New Port Downie toilets, showers and chemical toilet waste disposal and we will also be installing a dedicated baby changing facility.

The works will contribute to Scottish Canal’s commitment for Net Zero by ensuring reduced energy and water consumption at the facility.

Works will take place between 6th January – 14th March 2025 and there will be no access to any of the facilities during this period.  Toilets will be available inside the main Visitor Centre building Wed-Sun 09:30-15:30. Toilet provision will be provided for berth holders only outside of these hours.  Please note there will be no chemical waste disposal at The Falkirk Wheel during this period.

The works have been designed by Smith Scott Mullan Architects and will be carried out by EC Specialist Contractors between 6th January 2024 and 28th March 2025.
