Crinan Canal Towpath Closure: Replacement of Access Steps

Please be advised that the towpath between Lock 4 and Oakfield Bridge on the Crinan Canal will be temporarily closed from Tuesday 22nd October to Tuesday 12th November to support essential maintenance work.

This closure is necessary to allow our contractor to safely replace two sets of access steps that connect the canal towpath to the pavement alongside the A83 trunk road.

The work areas will be securely fenced off to prevent access. Advance signage will be placed at both ends of the closure to inform towpath users. A suggested alternative route is available via Linnet Court to Oakfield Bridge for the duration of the works. (See below)
