The Falkirk Wheel – Annual Winter Maintenance

The Falkirk Wheel has re-opened to the public after the Christmas break but there will be some temporary restrictions in place at times as we conduct our annual winter maintenance.

In February, our operating hours are Wednesday to Sunday, from 9.45am to 3.30pm. 

There will be a restricted opening from Sunday 22nd to Friday 27th February: we will continue to operate boat tours (one passenger vessel) and bookings are still available for this period, but the Visitor Centre will be closed. The Holiday Hire Boat Centre, which is located opposite the main Visitor Centre, will remain open for visitors to buy tickets, browse our gift shop, and access information. Food and drink will be on offer in the catering trailer in the main plaza. Toilets will be accessible in the building opposite, and signage will be in place on the spot.

Please note that the playpark will continue to be closed for maintenance until 17th February. Access to the aqueduct, tunnel and some sections of towpath may also be temporarily restricted during this time.
