The Falkirk Wheel – Annual Winter Maintenance

The Falkirk Wheel re-opens to the public after the Christmas break on Saturday 3rd January 2026. 

Throughout January and February, we are then open every week from Wednesday to Sunday, from 9.45am to 3.30pm, except on the below dates, when we will close all facilities for routine maintenance work.

- Wednesday 14th January to Tuesday 20th January inclusive 

- Wednesday 26th and Thursday 27th January 

The playpark will be closed for maintenance from 6th January through to 17th February. Access to the aqueduct, tunnel and some sections of towpath may also be temporarily restricted during this time.
