Union Canal Tree Safety Works: Edinburgh

Essential tree works will be taking place along the Union Canal towpath between Redhall and Kingsknowe in Edinburgh. This work is being supported by Transport Scotland and their tree contractors, and focuses on the removal of trees affected by Ash Dieback.

To carry out this work safely, we’ll need to close the towpath each day from 8.30am to 4.30pm. The closure will begin on Thursday 9 October and is expected to last for approximately ten days.

A pedestrian diversion will be clearly signposted near Lanark Road and can be found below. Thank you for your patience while we carry out these important safety works.
