Fault at The Falkirk Wheel
Due to a technical issue at The Falkirk Wheel we are unfortunately unable to operate at the moment.
Our Engineering team are working hard to fix the issue. If you have booked a boat trip with us or are transiting through the wheel, one of our team will be in touch.
Update 15th March 2022
Our engineering team has completed a thorough check of The Wheel to successfully identify the cause of the issue.
A part has been ordered and we are awaiting delivery. Once installed, we will then carry out routine safety testing before we can operate as normal.
We expect these tests to be completed on Wednesday. Further updates will be provided here and on our social channels. Thank you for your patience.
Kelvin Aqueduct Repair Plan and Reopening Date Announced
Scottish Canals is conducting a major programme of investigation, design and repairs on the historic Kelvin Aqueduct in Maryhill, Glasgow, together with contractor Mackenzie Construction. Repair work has now begun and this section of the canal will reopen on 1st March 2027.
