Scottish Canals is proud to announce the return of its popular Revolution Festival, taking place on Saturday, May 24, 2025 from 10am to 5pm at the iconic Falkirk Wheel.

This family-friendly celebration marks the anniversary of the Wheel’s grand opening in 2002 and promises a day packed with fun, excitement and unforgettable moments.

Set against the remarkable backdrop of the world’s only rotating boat lift, the day celebrates Scottish innovation, engineering excellence, and environmental stewardship.

This year’s event follows the recent awarding of the Gold Green Tourism Award to The Falkirk Wheel – a testament to its commitment to sustainability and visitor experience.

From thrilling e-boat rides and crazy golf to archery, live music, and stand-up paddleboarding in the sky, the festival offers something for everyone. Families can enjoy interactive performances, character meet-and-greets, and the opportunity to soar in the sky on boat trips that showcase the astounding mechanics of the wheel in action.

In a move to make the festival more accessible and environmentally friendly, Scottish Canals has teamed up with McGill’s Buses to provide dedicated one-off shuttle services from Falkirk High Station and Upper New Market Street directly to the event site. This initiative supports the festival’s green credentials while making it easier than ever for families to attend.

Ross McMillan, Scottish Canals Head of Destinations said: “We’re incredibly excited to welcome visitors from across Scotland and beyond to celebrate this remarkable feat of engineering.

“Revolution Festival is our way of saying thank you to the thousands of people who visit, support, and love this place. We can’t wait to share another unforgettable day with you all.”

Whether you're a returning visitor or discovering The Falkirk Wheel for the first time,  Revolution Festival 2025 is an event not to be missed! Mark your calendars for the Revolution at The Falkirk Wheel on Saturday, May 24 between 10am to 5pm. For more information, visit the Scottish Canals website at scottishcanals.co.uk.
