Towpath improvement works have been completed along the Forth & Clyde and Union canal at various locations to improve access and active travel for all canal users. Thanks to Mackenzie Construction for carrying out the works and to our partner Sustans for funding these improvements.

Towpath access improvement works are set to be carried out on the Union Canal & Forth & Clyde Canal later this month allowing uninterrupted passage for canal users. These works, carried out by MacKenzie Construction, on behalf of Scottish Canals, will allow users of the towpaths uninterrupted access from coast to coast, giving full accessibly to wheelers and walkers to be able to enjoy the canals at leisure.
