How to get there
By car
Locating Neptune's Staircase is quite straightforward, as it is situated just beyond Fort William and is clearly signposted. To reach it, head north from Fort William on the A82 until you reach the roundabout near the historic Ben Nevis Distillery. Taking a left at this roundabout and continuing along the road will lead you to the second bridge, where you'll cross over the great Caledonian Canal.
By public transport
The nearest train station is in Banavie, a short walk away. Local bus services also operate from Fort William to Banavie.
By boat
There is a nearby pontoon for boaters.
By bike
The Great Glen Way cycling route runs past the staircase.
By foot
The staircase is accessible from the Great Glen Way and the Caledonian Canal Towpath.
