Car park open 24/7.

PLEASE NOTE: While we welcome camper vans parking in The Helix car park space overnight (charges apply), please be aware that it is a car park and not a campsite, therefore we do not provide camping facilities. We cannot accept vehicles over 8 metres in length for overnight parking.

EV charging: There are 10 rapid charging (50KW) and 16 fast (22KW) charging stations at Falkirk Stadium, FK2 9EE which are available out with match days. This is a three minute walk to The Helix and 20 minutes from The Kelpies. Falkirk Stadium | Venue,Parties,Conference,The Westfield Cafe and Lounge,Weddings,Hospitality.

Disabled parking

Disabled parking is available outside the entrance to the Kelpies Visitor Centre. There are also disabled spaces at the play area carpark which is about 300 metres from the Plaza Café and can be accessed by smooth wide pavements.

There are seasonal charges for the main car park. Free to blue badge holders.

How to get here

By car

The Helix is located just off the main motorway routes in Central Scotland. Follow the brown tourist signs around Falkirk to reach us.

From Edinburgh - take the M9 towards Stirling, exit at Junction 5 for Falkirk/Grangemouth.

From Glasgow - take the M80 towards Stirling, exit at Junction 8 for M876 and join M9, exit at Junction 6 for Falkirk/Grangemouth.

From Carlisle and the South - M74, M73, M80, M876, M9, and follow the signs for Falkirk as above.

From Perth and the North - A9, M9 towards Edinburgh, exit at Junction 6 for Falkirk as above.

By public transport

Train - There are two main train stations in Falkirk that are close to The Helix: Falkirk High (located 3 miles away) and Falkirk Grahamston (located 2 miles away). There are also services to Polmont Station, Larbert Station and Camelon Stations which are all close by.

By boat

Visitors can also reach The Falkirk Wheel by boat, as it is part of the canal network.

By bike

The Helix offers wide and flat paths, perfect for cycling. You can pedal through the scenic landscape, enjoy the fresh air, and take in the beautiful surroundings. Convenient cycle parking racks are available outside the Plaza Café and the visitor centre at The Kelpies. The Helix is also linked to two National Cycle Routes and the John Muir Way, providing opportunities for longer rides and connections to other destinations.

By foot

The Helix path network provides a stunning backdrop for walks and strolls. With 26 kilometers of interconnected pathways, you can explore 16 communities and enjoy a variety of routes. Whether you're a serious runner, scenic stroller, or dog walker, there's plenty of room for everyone.
