The Egg Shed
Situated on the scenic Crinan Canal, The Egg Shed is a heritage and community hub which opened on 2nd August 2019.
What’s in The Egg Shed?
Visitors are invited to learn the stories of ‘Britain’s most beautiful shortcut’ within the exhibition space of The Egg Shed, and have the opportunity to purchase a souvenir in the shop.
With artefacts from Scottish Canals displayed alongside items supplied by the local community, you can experience the rich history of the Crinan Canal within The Egg Shed. Plus, step inside our giant egg to hear local people share their memories of the canal.
Gift shop
Our gift shop contains a range of beautiful gifts for all occasions including nautical gifts, books, toys, jewellery and clothing. Where possible, we source our gifts from Scottish makers.
Community Space
There’s a multi-purpose community space within the building which is well-used for community workshops, exercise classes, meetings and more.
