Lock Keeper of the Future

Earlier in the summer, an Inverness mum wrote to us about her son's keen interest in becoming a Lock Keeper at Muirtown Locks. 

Eight year old Arran Houston is a canal super fan and he wanted his mum to ask how old he would need to be to apply for a job. It turns out Arran likes to visit the Lock Keepers at the Caledonian Canal to learn all about lock keeping and see all the different boats that pass through. 

We reached out to Arran and his mum to find out all about his interest in the canals and his bond with some of our staff.
