Scottish Canals is registered in the United Kingdom under the Data Protection Act 2018 and General Data Protection Regulation 2018 (“GDPR”). As the Data Controller, we’re responsible for processing any personal information you provide.
This policy statement explains our commitments to safeguarding the personal information we hold about individuals. It doesn’t apply to information we hold about companies and other organisations.
Some of the personal information we hold about individuals may be what the Data Protection Act 2018 and General Data Protection Regulation 2018 refer to as ‘sensitive’ personal data. We won’t use sensitive personal data about individuals for any other reason than it was provided, unless we have a duty to do so or the law requires it.
If you have any questions or complaints that are not addressed here or on the Privacy Policy page, please reach out to our Data Protection Officer at data.protection@scottishcanals.co.uk. Please outline your concern and provide your full name. We will aim to acknowledge your request within five business days and respond to any complaint within one calendar month in accordance with the Data Use and Access Act 2025. Depending on the nature of the request, we may need further identity verification and/or details to address your concern.
